Amman, Oct. 27 (Petra) -- Orange Jordan held a closing ceremony for the Private Sector Access to Support Startups (PASS) programme, which supported 130 entrepreneurs in strengthening their businesses and preparing for further growth.
According to a company statement issued Tuesday, the programme was implemented in partnership with the Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Economic Development and Employment (E4DE) project, implemented by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).
The activities were held in cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship (MoDEE), with joint support from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the European Union (EU).
Over the course of one year, the programme helped entrepreneurs develop their skills, address business challenges and prepare their companies for growth. It aimed to help participating businesses increase sales, improve productivity and strengthen their competitiveness by providing practical support tailored to each company's needs and aligned with labor market requirements.
The programme's impact extended to several governorates, including Irbid, Jerash, Mafraq, Karak and Aqaba, as well as the capital, Amman.
This expansion reflects Orange Jordan's efforts to build a more inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem, develop skills and provide direct communication channels with mentors, demonstrating the company's commitment to sustaining these efforts and strengthening its strategic partnerships.
Orange Jordan said the programme builds on its efforts to turn ideas into "tangible" outcomes that serve society and support national economic and digital objectives, which the company seeks to help achieve through its responsible and effective programmes.
For its part, GIZ called for combining tailored business support with sustained mentorship and engagement with the private sector.
GIZ said it would maintain this approach beyond the programme by providing entrepreneurs with continued opportunities to connect with experts and strengthening the private sector's role in Jordan's entrepreneurship ecosystem.
